Begüm Demircan is a clinical dietitian at the Glucare Integrated Diabetes Center. She has been working with people with insulin resistance, reactive hypoglycemia, glucose intolerance, prediabetes, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, and obesity for 9 years. She completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics with honors at Yeditepe University in Istanbul. Since the beginning of her career, she has been dedicated to improving individuals’ health and quality of life. Begüm has also been a Member of the Board of Trustees at the Turkish Diabetes Foundation for years. At GluCare, Begüm supports her patients by helping them monitor their weight changes, blood sugar levels, and food intake. She educates people on healthy eating and blood sugar-friendly choices through private and group sessions, and motivates them by giving feedback on their progress. According to Begüm, obesity, all stages of prediabetes, and diabetes should be approached as a multidisciplinary team, like at Glucare, to achieve the best results.
